MWF in the Autodesk BUILD Space
StrucSoft Solutions is pleased to announce the installation of MWF in the Autodesk BUILD Space in Boston, showcasing its ability to transform Revit into a powerful manufacturing tool with Howick rollformers.
Officially opened on October 5th, 2016, the BUILD Space is an Autodesk R&D facility championing fabrication for the AEC space.
StrucSoft’s MWF – leading Revit framing software that automates the placement and details of wood and steel framing models in Revit, detects and resolves clashes of framing against MEP and structural members, creates shop drawings, BOM & more. MWF can then export the framing data to CNC roll formers such as Howick, bringing Revit framing models into the fabrication environment.
BUILD Space contractor Central Ceilings Inc. is using MWF within the facility to model light gauge steel framing. Kevin Estano, BIM / VDC Manager at Central Ceilings Inc, shares:
“With technology becoming more and more integrated into everyday construction processes, it is remarkable what MWF has done to automate the modeling of light gauge steel framing and panelizing processes. After modeling the light gauge steel panels using MWF, the panels were seamlessly exported to the Howick machine pre labeled, notched, and cut with almost no extra work. The panels then easily snap together with pre-drilled holes for screws. It is easy to see the power of merging manufacturing with the construction of light gauge walls by utilizing Strucsoft MWF software.”
