What is IBS 2023?

The International Builders Show or IBS for short, is the residential construction industry’s premier event, bringing together thousands of visitors, AEC professionals and companies under one roof. This year IBS 2023 is co-locating with the NHS (National Hardware Show) and the KBIS (Kitchen & Bath Show) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, between January 31st – February 2nd.

Here are 5 things you don’t want to miss at IBS 2023—both before the expo and during it.

IBS 2023 Pre-show (January 30th)

Master Workshops (West 218 & 229 )

IBS 2023 is one of the best venues for construction professionals and homebuilders looking to network and gain exposure. However if you’re looking to make some contacts before hitting the exhibition floor on the 31st of January, then these 3 hour workshop sessions can be a great place to get the ball rolling early.

This year there are a total of 4 workshops covering topics that cover a range of topics from building techniques and architecture, to sales, marketing and business management. Each workshop takes place on January 30th between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

Visit the Startup Zone (West Hall Booth W2056)

If you are looking to get a pulse check on some of the emerging players in the construction industry’s startup arena, then make sure to spend some time at the Startup Zone in the West Hall.

IBS 2023 will be featuring 20 up-and-comers featuring services and products that include software and apps, robotic construction, and innovative building materials. Some of the standouts at this year’s Startup Zone include Terran Robotics – a company promising to turn dirt into new homes, Virtual Review Assist – an AI driven code compliance review software, and Plantd which builds carbon negative wall and roof sheathing.

The IBS Super Sessions are a popular group of keynote presentations providing industry trends, forecasts and educational experiences in a dynamic format. If we had to choose one, it would be the Complete Guide to Housing Trends, Forecasts & Insights for 2023. Learn more about the IBS Super Sessions here

Turn Up at the Young Pro Party

Not to be overshadowed by the official IBS House Party on January 31st, the Young Pro Party is happening on Wednesday, February 1st and offers a unique networking opportunity for residential construction professionals under 40 years old, and some fun (provided country and bluegrass music is your thing). This year’s IBS Young Pro Party features live music by the Davisson Brothers Band, and takes place at the award winning Dawg House Saloon.
