2023 Year In Review

Now that we have flipped the last page of our 2023 calendars, it’s time to reflect on a year that was full of dynamic industry events, new partnerships, and of course major functionalities introduced to our framing software.

Join us as we take a look at some of our greatest accomplishments in 2023, and what we look forward to in 2024.

Steel Horizons | June 2023

This highly coveted event took place at the Autodesk Technology Center in Boston last June, bringing together some of the offsite and modular industry’s brightest minds. The event promised to be a day of stimulating presentations and discussion followed by a tour of the Autodesk Technology Center where CNC partners Howick showcased the X-Tenda 3600 roll former which produces extendable framing components for interior walls and ceilings.

Fabtech | September 2023

Being the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event in North America, Fabtech Expo was the ideal spot to showcase (for the first time ever at this event!) the CMS DSTV NC1 software for Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MBS. We were delighted to connect with the massive crowd at McCormick Place in Chicago, alongside our colleagues from Graitec Group.

Building Components Manufacturers Conference & Framing Summit | September 2023

It was great to back for the first time in 4 years at BCMC, the most trusted tradeshow for structural building component manufacturers to learn about the latest trends, cutting-edge technologies, and ideas that are transforming the industry. This annual tradeshow included a dynamic exhibit floor with live machinery demonstrations, multiple peer-led educational opportunities, and the chance to network and enjoy the camaraderie of an industry that spans generations.

We met Dave Cooper at the show and had the chance to speak about technology and data management in the manufacturing industry as well as the significance of off-site solutions and how StrucSoft | Graitec Group software can streamline the design-to-manufacturing process

Graitec Summit | October 2023

During October, Graitec’s People Managers across the globe got together in Paris for the “One Leadership Summit” week. From industry trends to customer satisfaction, to solutions, to products, to operating as one only team and executing against our sustainability commitment – the team had a tremendous time together aligning and regrouping as ONE. We look forward to accelerating our mission to digitize and industrialize our customers processes to improve performance and build a sustainable tomorrow.

Autodesk University | November 2023

AU 2023 was one of our favorite events of the year, bringing together design and make professionals from all over the globe under one roof. We were excited to learn about Autodesk’s commitment to AI and cloud technologies for the coming future, as highlighted in this blog post.

1. User Session
Strucsoft | Graitec group successfully hosted a User Group session for existing clients. During the session, clients met our MWF and ONYX product managers, learned what was next in development through product roadmaps and they offered insights on how to best enhance our software to suit their changing business needs.

2. Bridging the Gap Interview
Solution Line Senior Director Brandon Ionata sat down with Bridging the Gap’s Todd Weyandt to discuss the future of offsite and industrialized construction. Brandon spoke about how the future is in the cloud and that organizations must talk hold and adopt such practices as it won’t be optional soon enough. Full episode here.

Offsite Demo Days With SCM and Randek | December 2023

The Offsite Building Components | Demo Days event was the first construction event of its kind, and given its success, surely not the last.

Hosted at SCM Woodworking Technology’s factory in Carson California, this event gave attendees a hands-on experience detailing the step-by step process of building wood walls and trusses, which can then be transported to the worksite as prefabricated building components.

We were proud to witness our production management software Onyx streamline the process of bridging 3D models to Randek’ s machinery.

Balkan Architect Video | December

2023 was a notable year in our ongoing efforts towards educational outreach and community engagement. We teamed up with Milos Temerinski, the face behind Balkan Architect, a leading YouTube channel for Revit content. The result of this collaboration was an insightful walkthrough that showcased the functionality of our framing software MWF Pro Wood

There’s more to come in 2024, and we can’t wait to share further updates with you as the year rolls along!

Last year we partnered with well-known e-learning company, Balkan Arkitect. Known for trying and mastering different framing softwares and then create video content on YouTube, Milos Temerinski.

Looking Ahead: What’s To Come in 2024

2024 Trade Show Circuit | NAHB IBS 2024

We’re excited to kick off our 2024 trade show circuit with NAHB IBS 2024, alongside our industry partners Howick LTD. We can’t want to connect with everyone in-person from February 27-29, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Make sure to drop by booth SU18 and meet our team consisting of Hana, Parinaz, Tania and Thomas.

More Educational Content

Designing and engineering framing models can become complex. Our goal is to ensure that MWF is easy to use for beginners, and intuitive for advanced users. Every Thursday, our tech team produces a short tech tip video with best practices for using our software which can be viewed on our YouTube channel or social media. We also produce bi-weekly webinars which go into further detail. We also look forward to teaming up more often with Balkan Architect to produce software tutorials.

Robust Outlook For Modular Construction

We expect to see continued growth in the modular and prefab sectors in 2024 and beyond. Last year, we were thrilled to onboard a host of  offsite builders and manufacturers working with wood and light gauge steel. We look forward to further advancing the goals of residential and commercial construction firms this year with our digital solutions.
