Automate design and fabrication with the industry's most comprehensive Revit® framing software.

Strucsoft Version 2027.0.0, is now available. This release extends full compatibility to Autodesk Revit 2027 and returns the FrameLab toolset to Strucsoft as Wall Critical Framing. Alongside those, panels can now carry the components embedded in them, and framing behaviour around openings has been given more control.

Strucsoft Now Runs on Revit 2027

Strucsoft’s framing solutions for light gauge steel and are now fully compatible with Autodesk Revit 2027.

Installation has been simplified at the same time. The Strucsoft installer now ships as a single package covering every supported Revit version, and prompts you to select which years to install or update.

For teams running mixed Revit versions across, this removes the issue of having to use separate installer for each year. And for firms on a staggered upgrade path, moving to 2027 on new work no longer means losing everything still running in 2026.

GRAITEC Updater

We’re introducing GRAITEC Updater, a new built-in update experience designed to keep your applications up to date with minimal effort.

Now integrated into Strucsoft, GRAITEC Updater helps ensure you always have access to the latest product improvements, enhancements, and fixes through a streamlined update process.

Key Benefits

  • Centralized update management: Manage updates for all installed GRAITEC products from a single tool.
  • Automatic background updates: GRAITEC Updater runs silently in the background, automatically detecting and downloading available updates without disrupting your work.
  • Clear notifications: Receive notifications through the Windows system tray when updates are available and ready to install.
  • Flexible update control: Choose to install updates immediately, postpone installation, skip a version, or disable updates for specific products.
  • Familiar installation experience: Updates use the standard GRAITEC installer workflow, providing a consistent and recognizable experience.
  • Faster and more reliable delivery: Benefit from quicker access to product updates through a seamless and dependable update process.

To simplify installation and updates, the StrucSoft installer now includes support for all compatible Revit versions in a single package.

During installation or update, you will be prompted to select the Revit version(s) you would like to install or update before proceeding.

If you do not wish to install or update a specific Revit year, simply leave that version unselected.

GRAITEC Assistant Brings AI to Revit framing

We are pleased to announce that it is now possible to leverage AI to interact with and make changes to Revit framing, with the Graitec Assistant.

  • Builds panel templates from your wall schedule: Generate panel templates from the specifications in it, instead of you building each one by hand through the interface.
  • Maps specifications automatically: Identify fields such as  stud spacing, track types, heights, headers, sills and map them to template parameters.
  • Takes instructions in plain language: Define how the data should be read: which column holds the wall type, which holds the family name, what to assume where data is incomplete, how to handle specific framing conditions.
  • Generates multiple templates from one file: A single wall schedule can produce templates for every wall type in it.
  • Runs everyday panel operations conversationally. Search for a panel, regenerate one after a design change, or renumber a set from a reference point in the model.

This is the first time AI-assisted framing has been available inside Revit through Strucsoft – learn more about it in our upcoming webinar.

Critical Framing Tools Built In

FrameLab, once a separate product has been brought into Strucsoft. This means critical framing checks now happen in the same environment as the framing itself.

You’ll find the tools in the Wall menu as Wall Critical Framing: critical framing, no-fly zones, reports and the associated delete and tolerance tools, sitting at the right-hand end of the ribbon.

Panel Deliverables

The new Panel Deliverables feature extends what a panel definition can contain. The following elements can now be treated as part of the panel itself, rather than as separate objects that happen to sit inside it:

  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Electrical outlets
  • Pipes

You choose which Revit categories and families qualify. Anything that is enabled and intersects a panel, is associated to it through the BIMSF_Container parameter and carried with it through the project lifecycle. Those components also feed into panel weight and center of gravity calculations.

The practical effect is that a panel leaves the model complete. What’s in it is described by the panel, not by a list living somewhere else.

More control over how panels frame

The model does more of the work without overriding what you designed:

  • Studs shift instead of disappearing. Previously, studs clashing with opening framing were deleted. There’s now an option to reposition them instead, which preserves your spacing pattern and keeps sheathing splices landing on vertical members.
  • Nailers can be added automatically to any opening type such as doors, windows, wall openings — in both wood and LGS, using Structural Framing family types already in your project.
  • Cripples can be equally spaced across an opening span, regardless of stud spacing or standard placement patterns.
  • Multiple horizontal configurations can now coexist in a single panel, each with its own independent settings.

Truss engineering

Strucsoft has been updated with ASCE 7-22 wind and snow load data for truss engineering.

The Truss Symmetrical V marker gains a truss height control. Where the specified height is smaller than the space available between header and top track, cripples generate at standard vertical stud spacing rather than following the diagonal pattern

Manufacturing and handling

A new 70% from CoG lifting hole placement method is available for floor panels, joining the existing Quarter Points and Third Points options. Holes are positioned at 70% of the distance from the panel’s centre of gravity toward each edge, producing four symmetrically placed holes.

Worth noting that this lands in the same release as Panel Deliverables — with embedded components now feeding CoG calculations, the centre of gravity a lifting method works from is a more accurate one.

Manufacturing and handling

The Wall ribbon has been reorganised around how panelisation actually runs, from template creation through generation to post-editing. Template Settings is now the single place templates and template maps are managed, and Quick Create draws on the maps configured there.

How is AI Changing Revit Framing Software?

Artificial intelligence is transforming Revit framing software by improving the parts of the workflow that traditional automation struggles to address. While rules-based automation excels at repetitive tasks such as placing studs, generating wall panels, and producing shop drawings, AI introduces a new layer of intelligence that simplifies template creation, assists with custom configurations, and reduces the learning curve. Rather than replacing existing automation, AI complements it by making advanced framing workflows faster, more accessible, and easier to customize. For BIM managers, VDC directors, and off-site manufacturers, the future lies in combining mature automation with AI-driven decision support.

Revit Framing: Reach 95% Automation Success

Manufacturers often ask how much of their Revit framing workflow can be automated. According to Strucsoft’s product and implementation experts, the answer typically ranges from 50% to 95%, depending on process standardization, BIM model quality, engineering complexity, and team adoption. This guide explains why automation isn’t determined by software alone and how manufacturers can maximize productivity through repeatable workflows.
